To all those spammers.... Be warned.

-I WILL delete the posts very quickly
-IF YOU POST SPAM here, I ban your account(s) permanently, your network ranges, your mail domain, and if you keep coming back, I ban your entire class B or C network(s). So forget spamming, go invest more time elsewhere.

Otherwise, if it continues, I'm going to have to do something crappy like require live registrations where I have to confirm each account (I hate that).

Anyone know of surefire anti-spam solutions for SimpleMachines forum? I have the bot stuff turned up to full...but human spammers continue...

Spammers are annoying.

But now I'm adding more anti-spam plug-ins. Lets see how the new modifications help out.

I have killed a bunch of posts the last two days!

Does that mindless drivel actually work?

I could see it on some teen chat site, but that stuff on technical websites just pisses the users off.

I know I've been banning tons lately. Playing with some modules now .... Worse case we have to approve each new member (that totally sucks) so i'll see what some modules can do for us....

Some bot has been spamming the crap out of the wiki, and I've been blanking the spam pages. I came because the same bot spammed mine. Do you know how to install MediaWiki extensions? If so, I'd recommend ReCAPTCHA, AntiSpoof, and AbuseFilter so that you can stop the spam before it gets saved.
