Using Admin's last install script, running one process then exit.

Running Log of changes:

Changes for asterisk 1.8.3.2-

no longer need asterisk-addons, it is all included in the release and 'make menuselect'

Quote
There seems to be a certain amount of confusion being displayed in this thread with the methodology of installing Asterisk 1.8, for instance, asterisk-addons is not required, as it is now included in the main Asterisk tarball, and installed by choosing the appropriate options using make menuselect, and some doubt as to whether "make config" is required (it's not). if you guys need any help with this, then please ask.

Things needing to be added:

To add mp3 compatibility:

apt-get install subversion

 cd /usr/src/asterisk-1.8.3.2/

 svn export http://svn.digium.com/svn/thirdparty/mp3/trunk addons/mp3

on asterisk install, selected:

select app_mysql, cdr_mysql, format_mp3, res_config_mysql
go to Extras Sound Packages
Select EXTRAS-SOUNDS-EN-GSM
Save & Exit

asterisk compiling now  12:28 CDT USA

Got Asterisk 1.8.3.2 and FreePBX 2.8.1 both installed and running.

Yes you still have to manually modify the two files like you found out earlier.

my FOP is not working in this build again.

So, my last three builds: FOP not working, FOP working, FOP not working.

Here is the error:
Quote
The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

Anyone come across or know how to fix it?

Google doesn't have anything on this error with FreePBX or FOP searches.

Also, I came across FOP2 www.fop2.com. Anyone try this on the PLUG???  I installed it but I can't get it to start. Don't know if it is an ARM issue or config issue.

Apparently, FOP2 is only for 32 bit or 64 bit systems, and is NOT open source, so there is no source code to compile natively.

I have contacted the author to find out if there is any source code available, but I doubt there is.

FOP is like that. I tend to ignore it and focus on everything else lol.

You still have to patch asterisk source? Ugh

Is there another easy way to transfer calls, park calls, etc. and keep track of them?

These stupid Linksys SPA942s don't have any programmable buttons. Or maybe I am stupid for not reading fully before buying  Undecided

The FOP seems to be the answer to that.

As for patching...

Not a big deal at all, take like 2 minutes.

You can setup (or it is) that you can do in call controls by pressing # or * etc...You can even setup your own call menus..

Ie the mother in law calls.... press #

Menu - Press 1 to send to wifes cell phone
Press 2 to play hold music forever
Press 3 to drop call with 'going in tunnel' audio clip

Etc etc. You get the idea. You can live with crappy phones with no softbuttons. Both can be hacked with regular good 'ol asterisk and dial plan files, or in FreePBX etc, etc etc...
