I have been running my Sheeva since last summer as an Asterisk device, and now I would like to test it out as an FTP server. Is there an image I can burn to a SD card that allows it to function as an FTP or HTTP server when I reboot it?

Just install debian following the guides we have posted here and then:

apt-get apache2

or

follow this guide for whatever you are wanting to do:
http://www.debianhelp.co.uk/debianserver.htm

or google: debian ftp server

You can just add a TFTP server.

Its already running asterisk2 (web server)

so for instance

apt-cache search ftp
  or
apt-cache search ftp |grep -i "server"

Will list several available FTP apps (the second filters for the name server and ftp together...

finally when you think you like one (google each one and read up)

Just

apt-get install XXXXXX

I know proftpd is well liked AND the WebMin Web GUI installed on PlugPBX has a nice plugin to administer, configure, control and monitor that FTP server.

PlugPBX has lots of resources left to easily run an FTP server.

OR make a whole new SD card / Linux install blah blah blah...

Oh yah you can do all this from the WebMin interface as well, no need to even open a shell.

Google away! Smiley

its why I built it all on debian and webmin as a pre-installed front end.. Stupid easy to add/install apps
