Hi Everyone,

I am just looking into ShivaPlug for hobby and for testing. My first thought was that one ethernet port is not good and it means a lot of tassel when doing Asterisk. I am still to read over the wiki on plugpbx.org and read how you guys do it but in the meanwhile I have found GuruPlug Plus+ listed here:
http://www.globalscaletechnologies.com/p-32-guruplug-server-plus.aspx

I am wondering if anyone has any experience with that? Is that even made by Marvell? Why is processor at 800MHz vs the 1.2 of ShivaPlug? Have you install Asterisk on it? Do you see any benefits to this when running FreePBX+Asterisk VS Shiva Plug?

Inputs most appreciated.

Sheevaplug will work, zero hassles.

Single Ethernet port is just fine for a PBX, its NOT the bottle neck (and remember, its gigabit)

You'll have to invest more effort on anything that isn't a SheevaPlug. Thats it...plain and simple.

I would also note that the Guruplug has a small fan in it.  Part of the appeal of the Sheevaplug to me was that it had no moving parts to fail.  On a related note, a cowoker told me that Freescale has come out with their own Arm based SOC.  The box sounds slightly bigger than the sheevaplug, but they offer more IO including HDMI.  I can't remember the name of it, but if I do, I'll post it here.  He said it would cost $129.

Thanks guys. They seem to not be found widely. Where can these be found with a good price now-a-days?

in NA, Globalscape (online) is your best bet.

They sell as fast as they make them, few stocked, usually orders are direct from factory. Expect 4-6 weeks delivery if my past experience holds true today for SheevaPlug.
