Post any further details you wish.

From what I've seen over the past near two years i've played with these things..is the following.

Rev1 hardware power supplies fail within the first year on 220vac more often then 120vac.
Rev1 power supplies fail (no green led) or almost have enough power to bring up the logic board, then reset (hence blinking green led)

If the power supply goes, you can order a replacement, or use any alternate 5vd power source with sufficient mA to replace it.

If the logic board goes (Blue LED won't light) then your only choice is to swap out the logic board or attempt more detailed repairs  (I have yet to examine mine for bad capacitors or other easy fixes like a blown regulator or diode etc).

As I understand it newer sheevaplugs run cooler, and aren't to die like the first revision of hardware.

Anyone have a Sheeva thats dead? Im happy to receive them and tinker with the dead guts, swap boards / power supplies etc.

After re-powering my failed unit, the Green LED blinks. looks like a power supply dead / near death.

Will have to pull apart and either repair, replace or adapt an external 5vdc wall wart to power this one. It'll make a good spare / development unit. I wonder how long my other Rev1 Sheeva will last, its coming up to a year soon. This one ran about well over 1.5 years trouble free.

Rev2 units are supposed to have much improved power supplies

Well, earlier in the year I posed the question about the reliability of these power supplies (http://forums.plugpbx.org/index.php/topic,248.0.html).  A couple of days ago, my power supply went south Sad.  I first noticed it when my SIP phone stopped ringing and my wife complained it wasn't working.  I have PSTN failover so we weren't dead in the water.  The interesting thing is that I had a solid green LED/no blue LED.  Last night I removed the power supply and hacked in a power connector for a 2.5A 5V wall wart and I am back in business.  Hopefully that's the last time I have to open it up.

Now, what's the word on the logic board reliability?
