Wow SD media can suck depending on your luck....
http://www.bunniestudios.com/blog/?p=918...and a very informative post at PlugComputer.org
http://plugcomputer.org/plugforum/index.php?topic=1074.new;topicseen#newSo im sold on using JFFS and the larger write delays. I'll also remove munin from the next release, to reduce writes to SD disk, to ensure longer lifetime with SD card media...
UPDATE:Screw all this,
apt-get install flashybrid for the win.
I'll perhaps put in a 'store changes now" button on the main PlugPBX webpage interface and its win-win for all - one click and your settings are snappshoted back to SD card, otherwise /etc and /var run in ram (since the SheevaPlug has tons left free).
Anytime you reboot/shut down it'll sync changes to SD card as well, and load them back to ramdisk on reboot.
The entire setup can be 'disabled' pretty easily if users don't care for it, but from what I'm reading on SD cards, its highly recommended using this approach. Looks like its fully integrated with apt scripts too. Slick.
